Unbeaten over hurdles - Vinndication looks a to take high rank as a novice chaser.

This site is to share my views on the sport we all love, National Hunt racing. Any feedback, shares, RTs are greatly appreciated. I am trying to keep things simple whilst also trying to do things a little differently to give people a more explorative view of the sport. An avid follower of British and Irish jumps racing, we have a sport where rivalry’s become friendships and success is celebrated.

This season coming, I shall be taking a more tactical and detailed approach with my punting, especially in the big handicaps. Taking the quality over quantity approach, I will conduct a lot more discipline with my studying.

As always, the Novice Chasers are a division I will focus on a lot, especially the 2 milers. I have or shall go through the various hurdling divisions from last season and highlight horses that can either match their hurdling ability or even improve for the bigger obstacles. Footpad, a prime example of a horse improving massively on their hurdling ability, when switched to fences last season.

In regard to the handicaps, I love the challenge and the puzzle of finding the victor in what can potentially be a complete minefield. Trends are a huge factor in my workings out, yes, they’re not 100% bomb proof but they give you a great guide in the direction of the winner using; handicap marks, weight, age from past winners as the main factors, on top of the obvious -  ground, general form, trainer, jockey, etc. In doing so, following this method resulted in 20/1, 25/1 and 33/1 winners amongst others last season.

Since I began following the sport 5 years ago, despite being from the North, as a rule, I've always followed and focused on Southern based trainers/horses. This year, I shall be making more of an effort to look into the Northern racing scene to find some hidden gems, to compete with the South. With Donald McCain coming back to life last season and jockey championship contender; Brian Hughes teaming up this year, it could be a prosperous year for Northern Racing.
